The county’s 2026 budget as filed with the state (artransparency.gov, May 2026), turned into a money trail with a page cite on every amount.

2026-10-08 — what this revealed: $23,015,268 across 32 funds. The largest: County General ($11,696,861), County Road ($4,166,760), County Jail Operations ($2,705,581). Every total marked complete adds to its parts to the cent; where the county’s own pages disagree, the page keeps the printed number and an open question below.

Reconcile County General.

Fund total is the 'TOTAL GENERAL FUND' printed in the appropriation ordinance (Section 5, p. 3), which the ordinance says includes transfers into and out of County General. The detailed budget pages show Transfers Out as $0.00; the ordinance's Section 4 (pp. 1–2) lists transfers from County General of $468,289.34 (to 911, fund 3020), $30,000.00 (to District Court Probation, fund 3027) and $45,000.00 (to Public Defender, fund 3024), which add to the gap. Printed total is $11,696,861.45; the departments listed add to $11,153,572.11. Ask the county treasurer or clerk which figure is right, and how the adopted amount splits.
